Say No to Plastic Bags

I would imagine that in this day in age of 2012, most people are aware that plastic bags are not good for the environment.  However, do people truly understand the negative consequences that single-use plastic bags cause?  Vince would talk more knowledgeably than me on the topic but the human race is by far the most toxic thing to ever happen to this planet.

Did you know that water heating is the second largest highest use for natural gas (in homes) in the U.S.?  Did you also know that it is one of the worst on efficiency?  Typical water heating efficiency is around 60%.

Locavore:

This is a great app for finding local and organic food.  Once downloaded it uses the phone’s GPS capability to determine your location.  It then shows you a list of what foods are currently in season, for how long, and what will be in season in the coming months.  Once a specific in-season food is chosen an option is given to find local growers and how to contact them.  The app also supplies links to the Wikipedia info on the specific food chosen as well as recipes on Foodista.  There is also an option to bring up all the local farmers markets on a Google Map.

Got Milk?

Ah, the sweet nectar that is milk.  Great as a stand alone beverage, it is even better as a companion to cookies, cake, pie, etc.  Unfortunately, and unbeknownst to most, is the fact that we are consuming far too much of it.
